Dear colleagues,

It is my pleasure to present to you my paper “The development of a malignant tumor is due to a desperate asexual self-cloning process in which cancer stem cells develop the ability to mimic the genetic program of germline cells” that was recently published in Intrinsically Disordered Proteins is now available in the PubMed database.

This is a review article in which I have discussed and synthesized key findings about the reprogramming of somatic cells into malignant germline-like cells which are cancer stem cells, and about the similarities between tumorigenesis and early stages of embryogenesis. I present a new oncogerminative model of cancer development which explains tumor formation, tumor heterogeneity, metastases and malignant progression. I suggest new strategy in cancer research aimed to prevent, control or eradicate cancer. In particular, I propose an innovative way to overcome immune tolerance against tumor associated antigens.

I think you may find it interesting.
